In recent years Ottawans have been flocking to this bedroom community which started out as a small piece of land with a sawmill.Lyman Clothier purchased his 100 acres and built his mill, and the town's development took flight.

Home to roughly 4,000 residents, Kemptville is located in the Municipality of North Grenville with a population of 17,000, on the south branch of the Rideau River about 50 kilometres south of Ottawa and 30 minutes from the US Border. Kemptville can be accessed from Highway 416, exiting at Leeds and Grenville Road 43.The rural features combined with its various amenities has made Kempville the best-kept secret - but the word is out now, making it a very popular destination for families.
